Q: How long do I have to claim my prize?
A: A winner of a 2nd Chance promotional drawing has 10 calendar days from the date of receipt of the certified letter in which to claim the prize, unless otherwise specified in the special Terms and Conditions for a particular 2nd Chance promotional drawing.

Q: What happens if the winning prize is not claimed within the time limit?
A: If the Lottery determines a winner and any alternate winners of a 2nd Chance promotional drawing are ineligible or fail to claim the prize within the time limits set by the Lottery, or if the entry and any alternate winning entries selected for that drawing are invalid, then the 2nd Chance promotional prize is forfeited and becomes an unclaimed prize. Q: Where is the WINNERS LIST from the last drawing?

A: Winners are randomly selected by computer generated results from all eligible entries received for each drawing.

Q: What are my chances of winning a prize in the Wheel of Fortune 2nd Chance promotional drawing?
A: Your odds of winning will vary based on the total number of entries that are received for the drawings, the total number of entries that you have submitted, and the number of prizes being awarded.

Q: Can I change my mind and turn down a prize won in the Wheel of Fortune 2nd Chance promotional drawing?
A: Yes, you can turn down a prize up until the claim has been approved. Once the claim has been approved, the prize is considered claimed and may not be changed or refused.

Q: How can I redeem my prize?
A: The Lottery will notify the 2nd Chance promotional drawing winner of a 2nd Chance promotional drawing by Certified Letter, Return Receipt Requested, via the U.S. Postal Service. The winner must follow the "How to Claim Your Prize/Winnings" instructions posted at www.mslotteryhome.com.

Q: How are federal and state withholding taxes for the Winner's Choice promotional drawing prizes reported and calculated?

A: For U.S. citizens, the federal government requires lottery winnings be reported to the IRS for tax purposes if an individual wins $600 or more and if the winnings are at least 300 times the amount of the per board wager, or the winnings are subject to federal income tax withholding (winnings greater than $5,000).

The federal tax withholding rate is 24 percent for winnings, less the wager, that are greater than $5,000. The state tax rate is 3 percent. Prize withholdings are calculated on the total amount of gross proceeds (the amount of winnings minus the amount wagered).

If you have questions regarding the tax consequences of winning any Mississippi Lottery game, including a Promotional 2nd Chance drawing, we recommend that you consult with your own accountant or tax advisor prior to claiming your prize. Once a claim is approved, the prize is considered to be claimed, and may not be changed or refused after that point, and tax responsibility will be borne by the prize winner.
